ART for the Sea - Fundraiser for the Lyall Bay Surf Club on Thursday 30 March 2017 at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery, Shed 11, Queens Wharf - Starts at 5:30pm
An eclectic array of 20 prominent New Zealand artists have created unique pieces of art out of the old Lyall Bay Surf Lifesaving Club's (LBSLSC) clubhouse.
Paddleboards and sections of original native timber were extracted before the building's demolition earlier this year, and formed canvasses for many of the works that are now up for auction.
All art goes under Ian Patterson's expert hammer at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery on Thursday 30 March to raise funds for the fit-out of the Club's new building.
One of my last By the Light of the Moon limited edition art prints is in the auction - it is a specially framed torn-edged print which I have float-mounted in a white NZ-made box-frame (53.5 x 53.5cm). You can see it here.
